A year ago, virtualization software Parallels Desktop for Mac released version 12 with support towards macOS Sierra and a Toolbox app to help users perform various tasks with ease. The team has now announced their version 13 update to Parallels Desktop for Mac with several additions including support for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and macOS High Sierra.
Version 13 integrates Touch Bar support for users of the newest line of MacBook Pro. The support allows users to control touch input of OLED bar to put it to use while running Microsoft’s Office products or open up the Windows Start Menu, Cortana or assign tasks inside the virtual Windows machine. The support for dynamic resolution gives users the ability to resize a window while a system is running in the foreground, which could be made to scale smoothly thanks to retina displays on these MacBook Pros.
There’s also a picture-in-picture mode that supports the yet-to-be-announced Windows 10 People Bar that will display the recent contacts in a Mac Dock or the Windows Taskbar. The team claims that Parallels Desktop v13 is 47% faster than the previous version while allowing speedy access to files through USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt SSD. All software codes are enhanced for use in macOS High Sierra and Microsoft’s own Windows 10 Fall Creators update.
